- I am a mother of three boys. My oldest, Shane, is 9. My middle, Sullivan, is 7 and my youngest, Saxton is 4. They very much fit the typical profiles of first middle and third child! My hubby and I met when I was 17 (ahhhh, 17... anyway) we were engaged by the time I was 18 and married by 20 and baby one arrived at 21. Wow! What in the world were we in such a rush for??? I received my K-6 teaching degree as well as my BS in psychology before my first son was one year old. I spent 8 years running a childcare program at a local YMCA. Three years teaching preschool, 2 years serving tables and bartending (you do what you have to right?) and the last two years watching children in my home and trying to start my own business. So... here I am 31 (ahhh, still hurts to say that) with three boys. You'd think with my background with children, parenting would be a breeze, right?? Not so much! It's a struggle and a battle, often a war. I'm determined to win the war! Or... at least go down fighting a good fight!!
